United Nations guidelines

  • UN Correspondence Manual (link to the UNHQ Intranet). Last updated in 2000, this manual provides style guidelines and examples for writing letters, memos, note verbale, faxes, and more.
  • UN Editorial Manual Online This is a very useful document which is frequently updated. Look here for the most recent United Nations spelling list, style and format guidelines for reports, and more.

  • Usability.gov, an official U.S. government website for government web designers to learn how to make websites more usable, useful, and accessible. Especially good are the guidelines, which are also a good good example of how to break a long document into smaller, more consumable parts!
